Contact GP Weekend

Many racers arrived on friday to do some practice.  It turned out to be a well subscribed day, with a full pit area.  MB models staff put people into free practice heats to ensure everyone had a fair amount of track time.

The Schumacher team had a special guest for this weekend, travelling over from Italy, Alessandro Giubbilei.  The man behind bringing GT12 racing to Italy. I met him a couple of months ago when I visited Italy for the Charity Race. It was great for him to come and experience the class in all its glory in its home country!

We took Alessandro to harvestor to sample something typically british.

Schumacher Team + Friends

I decided to run only lmp-12 this weekend to do some last minute testing for the Euros next weekend.  It went great and I managed to win by a margin and the car was feeling really good!

Ollie Payne managed to win the GT12 class, ahead of a returning to form Aidan Ripley who pushed him hard throughout qualifying and the final. Nathan Goodban completed the podium without use of the practice day.  Constant improvement for my good friend and mechanic :D   Arran Turner also had a stand out performance making his first A final at a large event.
Thomas Gill won the Touring car class after a super close final.  Good job!!

On the Sunday evening after the race, Nathan, George and I took Alessandro out for some of the UK's finest Pizza (Hut).  He was extremely impressed by George's choice of pizza.  Apparently pizza is no place for a fruit!  This was before he spotted a Pizza Hut 'pan' base in all its glory too!

Looking forward to meeting my Italian friend again in a few months for some tarmac GT12 racing in Italy!

Next up is the lmp-12 european championship later this week.  I will travel again with Adam, Kel and Nathan as per the test.  We have a much stronger team for this year so can't wait to see what progress we can make.
