Day 2 - Complete - Lmp12 National Final

Home from a challenging day at chesterfield. Proud of Ben V and Mark J qualifying 1-2 in sports mod. Really good end to qualifying in 17-18 season. More to the point was Louis Parker qualifying 2nd in mod with his eclipse car. Stunning increase in pace mate!  Ollie Tq’d and I tried some different tyres and didn’t ever get fully on pace so good job to him. I qualified top3 in each round, and ended 3rd on the grid.

In the finals, a few unfortunate mistakes massively cost the sports mod guys. This made me (and them I’m sure) sad as there was a chance of winning this championship. Next season!

Louis winking in readiness while everyone waited on the grid for Mark Stiles to finish building his car.
Thanks pano for the weird alien effect.

In my final a car behind ruined the first lap which sucked. He did wait, and apologise, but it was over real quick.  The only positive was even with a tyre damaged the pace was good, climbed back to 3rd, but made a schoolboy crash while trying to pass spashett for second at the end. I finished 5th. Decent overall but it felt like it could of been so much better. 😔🙈. Well done Ollie for the great drive.

Thanks to the entire team for all the great work together on this hard weekend. 4 Eclipse cars in every A final too, and the support to all racers wanting help was ace all weekend. Well done guys.

Next week is the Contact GP at MB models. With some testing there too, I need to quickly re-gain motivation and prepare as this will be a great race meeting and our last testing before the euros.
